Why Wall for Sponsored Residential?
Our signature matching process carefully pairs you with an experienced contracted Direct Support Professional (called a Provider) based on shared likes, dislikes, and needs. At Wall, sponsored placement is about more than finding an available bed in a geographic area… it is about carefully finding the right fit for everyone involved.
Personalized Support in a Private Family Home
In this service, up to two individuals live in the home of a professional service provider and become an integrated part of the family and community. At Wall, these experienced, highly qualified Direct Support Professionals are called Providers. At other companies, these caregivers may be referred to as host homes, sponsored residential homes, family care homes, or family partner homes.
Back-Up Workers in Every Service
Each Provider employs other trained and certified Direct Support Professionals (back-up workers) to assist them, ensuring continuity of care by people who know the supported individual well. Back-up workers are thoroughly trained and directed to implement all services as outlined in the individual’s Plan for Support (PFS).
Privacy and Security
Individual bedrooms offer privacy, paired with the knowledge someone is available to help when needed, day or night. The Provider coordinates all needed services and sees the supported individual as a whole person, allowing them to notice and respond to needs and changes more quickly.
Choice Is Key
Each person is supported to participate in a mix of home and community-based activities that match their needs and preferences. Daily schedules are created around the needs of the individual, not the program. Shift changes, which can be disruptive, disappear. There is stability in knowing who will be there to provide support each day.
Creating Community
The respect the community grants to a well-established family naturally extends to a person who shares their home. Meaningful community interactions support friendship-building. Inside the home, careful matching often leads to long-term placements, deep loving relationships between individuals and the Provider families, and a holistic approach to care.
Team-Based Oversight & Guidance
Every Sponsored Residential service has multiple layers of Program Management support. Our Program Management team works with individuals and natural supports to create a tailored plan and ensure best practices through regular in-person visits.
Signature Matching Process
Placement decisions are ultimately made by the person seeking services and their authorized representatives/legal guardian.
Admissions staff use a detailed interview process and evaluate many options in the preferred location to find the best match. With hundreds of Sponsored Homes throughout Virginia, we have services to meet a wide range of needs.
Our Providers
We attract the best people by offering the best pay and support.
Providers are treated with the highest professional regard. They receive ongoing training, supervision, and support from a Program Manager, as well as opportunities for professional networking. Company events allow Providers to build relationships with others who share this lifestyle.
