About the Provider

Phyllis worked for 28 years as a Maintenance Supervisor with VDOT until she retired in 2014, which gave her great experience working with people. She then served as a BUW for current Providers with Wall Residences until becoming a Provider in 2018. Phyllis also served as a caregiver for her elderly parents for 6 years.

Phyllis enjoys spending time with her two adult sons and two granddaughters. She likes attending local events, taking vacations, and making day trips. She enjoys spending time with the individual she currently supports, as they attend festivals, concerts, bowling, movies, shopping, sporting events, and dine out as much as the individual desires and is able. Phyllis also hosts cookouts for family and friends in her backyard.

About the Home

Phyllis’ home offers one level living and wheelchair accessibility, including a ramp on the front porch. There is a nice back deck overlooking a wooded yard. The home is close to the amenities of Madison Heights and Lynchburg. Phyllis shares her home with one supported individual, an adult male, and they are both excited to welcome a new person into the home.

Phyllis shared she's always enjoyed helping people and wants to give someone a fresh start. She hopes to open someone's eyes to all that the world has to offer and broaden their horizons. She believes there is so much more to life than just spending time in your bedroom or interacting with the same few people. Phyllis' previous managers describe her as "compassionate, timely, respectful, a team player, and dependable."
