About the Provider

Rob and Karen bring extensive experience and dedication to caregiving. They spent several years as foster care providers, gaining valuable insight into supporting children and families with diverse needs. Karen is a QMHP-C and holds an associate degree in Mental Health Human Services and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Education. Much of Karen’s career has been spent working in school systems as a Therapeutic Day Treatment Counselor. She also has intermediate proficiency in sign language and has worked with the blind and deaf community through the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind (VSDB). Rob and Karen Robertson have three adult children and enjoy a close-knit, active extended family life. Two of their daughters serve as backup workers for the home. Family time is a central part of life in the Robertson home and includes poolside cookouts, game nights, s’mores by the firepit, and joyful birthday celebrations.

The home is one level and resides on a quiet cul-de-sac in a family-friendly neighborhood. The home is warm and inviting, decorated with shades of gray and blue and a lot of nautical decorations based on a love of the beach. Rob and Karen said, “We have the room, love, and interest to bring someone into our family to love on and welcome as a part of our family.” Faith and service are important aspects of family life. Rob and Karen are very active in their church, where they both serve on the church council and as youth leaders. They believe a good fit for their home would be someone who appreciates the opportunity to grow spiritually within a small Christian church environment.
