About the Provider

Karen has been a dedicated Direct Support Professional since 2008 and has consistently maintained all required certifications throughout her career. She has strong advocacy skills and a deep understanding of the importance of building meaningful relationships in this field. Karen has also previously served as a mentor for Wall Residences.

Outside of her professional role, Karen is active with the YMCA, where she enjoys swimming, working out, and participating in classes. She has a passion for cooking, baking, and home design, and she takes pride in making holidays feel special for everyone in the home. Karen is also involved in her church community, which is an important part of her life.

Karen shares her home with her spouse, who serves as a backup worker, and their adult son. She currently provides care for two individuals: her biological son and another individual who has been part of their home for over a decade. The family also has two friendly Goldendoodles who bring joy and companionship to the household.

The home features a handicapped-accessible shower, large bathrooms, a fully finished basement, and a newly renovated kitchen with a spacious pantry. It also includes screened-in porches on both floors, an above-ground pool, a wood stove and gas fireplace, and a pond stocked with fish.

Karen loves being a provider and understands the need for hope and the importance of creating a home where someone feels safe and secure. Advocacy is her top priority, and she is committed to discovering each person’s interests and helping make those interests or dreams a reality. Her dedication, compassion, and creativity make her home a warm and welcoming place for those she supports.
